GERMAIN TRANSPORTATION DEPT: Provides relative to topographical mapping AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 48:36, relative to topographic mapping; to provide for mandatory2 development and maintenance of a statewide digital geospatial database; and to3 provide for related matters.4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5 Section 1. R.S. 48:36 is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:6 ยง36. Topographic mapping7 A. The department may shall develop and maintain a statewide digital8 geospatial database with the assistance of other state agencies or departments. The9 department shall act as authority for geographic names, set standards for the mapping10 of topographic features, and plan and manage data collection for incorporation into11 a statewide database. Rules and regulations shall be promulgated by the department12 in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act as are necessary for the13 planning and managing of the geospatial data.14 B.
