Present law provides for a high school career option program. Requires the State Bd. of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) to develop and adopt requirements for career major programs offered by school boards and to issue a career diploma to students who successfully complete such requirements. Proposed law allows a student, prior to the beginning of the second semester of his senior year, to change his program of study and the type of diploma he is pursuing, if he will be able to meet the requirements pertaining to such program of study and type of diploma prior to graduation.
