APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT: Appropriates funds for payment of judgment against
the DOTD in the matter of "Robert Jiles Romero v. State of Louisiana, et al"
AN ACT1
To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2012-2
2013 to be used to pay the consent judgment against the Department of3
Transportation and Development in the suit entitled "Robert Jiles Romero v. State4
of Louisiana, et al"; and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. The sum of Four Hundred Twenty-Four Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety-7
Nine and 34/100 ($424,999.34) Dollars is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund of8
the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2012-2013 to be used to pay the consent judgment9
against the Department of Transportation and Development in the suit entitled "Robert Jiles10
Romero v. State of Louisiana, et al", bearing Number 108,586-G on the docket of the11
Sixteenth Judicial District Court, parish of Iberia, state of Louisiana.12
Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2012; if vetoed by the governor13
and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,14
2012, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later. 15 HLS 12RS-1084 ORIGINAL
