HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 142
BY REPRESENTATIVE KATRINA JACKSON AND SENATOR THOMPSON
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To commend Rueben Randle for his contributions to the Louisiana State University football
team and to extend to him best wishes for continued success in his professional
career.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend Rueben Randle for his outstanding
accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, a native of Bastrop, Louisiana, Rueben Randle is a graduate of Bastrop
High School, where he earned numerous honors during his extremely successful high school
football career; and
WHEREAS, in three seasons at LSU, Mr. Randle distinguished himself as an
exceptional wide receiver; and
WHEREAS, in his junior season at LSU, Mr. Randle had fifty-three catches for nine
hundred seventeen yards and eight touchdowns, leading the Tigers and ranking third in the
Southeastern Conference (SEC) in receiving yards; and
WHEREAS, in his three-year stint with the Tigers, Mr. Randle had a total of ninety-
seven receptions for one thousand six hundred thirty-four yards and thirteen touchdowns,
and he recorded five one-hundred-yard receiving games; and
WHEREAS, in 2011, the Tigers finished the regular season with a perfect undefeated
record of 12-0, won their thirteenth consecutive game of the season with victory in the SEC
Championship, and earned a berth in the national championship, and Mr. Randle played an
integral role in the success of this historic season; and
WHEREAS, in 2011, Mr. Randle was named First-Team All-Southeastern
Conference (Coaches) and Second-Team All-Southeastern Conference (AP); and ENROLLEDHCR NO. 142

WHEREAS, in the 2012 Draft of the National Football League, Mr. Randle was the
thirty-first pick of the second round by the reigning Super Bowl Champions, the New York
Giants, and the highest drafted LSU wide receiver since 2007; and
WHEREAS, as he embarks upon his professional football career, Rueben Randle
merits a special measure of commendation for his contributions to the LSU Tigers football
team as a superb wide receiver and for the tremendous pride and honor he brings to the city
of Bastrop and the state of Louisiana.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend Rueben Randle for his vital contributions to the Louisiana State University
football team, does hereby recognize and record for posterity his singular gifts and talents,
and does hereby extend to him best wishes for full measures of continued happiness and
success in his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Rueben Randle.
