BY REPRESENTATIVES BURFORD AND SEABAUGH AND SENATORS
BUFFINGTON AND PEACOCK
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To commend the Calvary Baptist Academy baseball team upon winning the 2012 Class 2A
state championship.
WHEREAS, the Cavaliers of the Calvary Baptist Academy baseball team completed
a sensational season when they earned the title of 2012 Class 2A state champions after
defeating the Riverside Academy Rebels by a score of three to one at the thrilling
championship game on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at J.C. Love Field at Louisiana Tech
University; and 
WHEREAS, the historic and memorable victory marked the third state championship
for the Cavaliers under head coach Rodney Traweek and the culmination of an unforgettable
season; and 
WHEREAS, the members of the team performed at the highest level of excellence
throughout the 2012 season and playoffs, and each of these great Cavaliers deserves
recognition for his vital contributions to the winning effort; and 
WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved
without the guidance and skills of Coach Traweek as well as all of the other individuals who
have contributed to the success of the school's baseball program; and
WHEREAS, the team's outstanding 2012 season upholds the glorious tradition of the
Cavaliers, and all Calvary alumni and fans recognize the immense pride and distinguished
honor that the team brings to its school, community, and state. 
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend the Calvary Baptist Academy baseball team upon winning the 2012 Class 2A state
championship and does hereby extend best wishes to the players, coaches, and everyone ENROLLEDHCR NO. 149

involved with this fine baseball program as they celebrate their exceptional season and
prepare for continued success in the future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to head coach Rodney Traweek.
