HLS 12RS-1136 ORIGINAL Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2012 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 154 BY REPRESENTATIVE JOHNSON INSURANCE/GROUP-STATE: Requires prior legislative approval of the privatization or sale of the Office of Group Benefits A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1 To direct the Office of Group Benefits to submit to the legislature a plan for privatization2 or sale of business or services which shall require a majority vote of the elected3 members of each house of the legislature by concurrent resolution prior to the4 privatization or sale of any business or services of the Office of Group Benefits.5 WHEREAS, there are laws governing the approval of certain contracts relative to the6 business of the Office of Group Benefits; and 7 WHEREAS, discussion in previous sessions has proposed privatization or sale of the8 business relative to the Office of Group Benefits.9 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby10 direct the Office of Group Benefits to submit to the legislature a plan for privatization or sale11 of business or services prior to any such action. 12 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that such plan shall require a majority vote of the13 elected members of each house of the legislature by concurrent resolution prior to the14 privatization or sale of any business or services of the Office of Group Benefits.15 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted16 to the director of the Office of Group Benefits.17 HLS 12RS-1136 ORIGINAL HCR NO. 154 Page 2 of 2 DIGEST The digest printed below was prepared by House Legislative Services.
