MTR VEHICLE/INSPECTION: Requests a study be completed regarding motor vehicle
inspection fees
A CONCURRENT STUDY REQUEST1
To the House Committee on Transportation, Highways and Public Works and the Senate2
Committee on Transportation, Highways and Public Works to meet and to function3
as a joint committee to study the Louisiana motor vehicle inspection fees and to4
report the findings of the joint committee to the legislature prior to the convening of5
the 2013 Regular Session of the Legislature of Louisiana.6
WHEREAS, all motor vehicles in the state of Louisiana are subject to annual motor7
vehicle inspections; and8
WHEREAS, policies and procedures relative to motor vehicles inspections have been9
in statute since the 1980s; and10
WHEREAS, these policies and procedures should be reviewed and updated.11
THEREFORE, the Legislature of Louisiana requests the House Committee on12
Transportation, Highways and Public Works and the Senate Committee on Transportation,13
Highways and Public Works to meet and to function as a joint committee to study14
regulations and procedures relative to motor vehicle inspection fees and to report the15
findings of the joint committee to the legislature prior to the convening of the 2013 Regular16
