HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 100
BY REPRESENTATIVE SHADOIN
A RESOLUTION
To commend the Ruston High School cheerleaders upon their memorable and historic
victory in the Game Time Division of the 2012 National Cheerleader Association
championship.
WHEREAS, in January of 2012, the Ruston High School cheerleaders traveled to
Dallas, Texas, to compete in the National Cheerleading Association championship, where
they won first place in the Game Time Division for the second consecutive year; and
WHEREAS, the highly competitive Game Time Division consists of the Timeout
Cheer, the Timeout Dance, and the Fight Song Dance, and the squad excelled in all three
events and received no penalty points; and
WHEREAS, in addition to this prestigious national victory, the squad attained a third
place ranking in the Non-Tumbling Division, won first place at regionals, and performed
with excellence at the state championship, where they landed first place wins in the Non-
Tumbling, Timeout Cheer, and Fight Song divisions; and
WHEREAS, the competition team is made up of members of the varsity, junior
varsity, and freshman cheer squads, and together they perform challenging stunts, dance
routines, and cheers; and
WHEREAS, the talented members of the competition squad performed at the highest
level throughout the national competition, and each member deserves recognition for her
vital contributions to the winning effort: Emaleigh Bickham, DeJayla Chambers, Savannah
Chrisman, Emily Colvin, Emily Compton, Amber Crawford, Te-Air Douglas, Caitlin Elliott,
Taylor Evans, Ansleigh Faile, Avery Givens, Chandler Haddox, Morgan Hitt, Natalie
Hogan, Taylor Hogan, Katie Hopkins, Carley Jones, Kendall Lopez, Mary Margaret
Manning, Harper Neal, Larkin Nelson, Lauren Pate, Savannah Payne, Janese Penegar, Beth ENROLLEDHR NO. 100

Ramirez, Mallorie Stafford, Morgan Stanley, Lauren Taylor, Rebecca Wheelis, Lexi White,
Paige Williams, and Carrie Wilson; and
WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved
without the guidance and skills of head coach Heather Reeder as well as all of the other
individuals who contribute to the success of the school's cheerleading program, including
assistant coaches Olivia Gordon, Abby Gordon, and Shelby Griffith; and 
WHEREAS, the squad's outstanding victory upholds the glorious tradition of the
Bearcats, and all Ruston High School alumni and fans recognize the immense pride and
distinguished honor that the squad brings to its school, community, state, and nation.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Ruston High School cheerleaders upon
their memorable and historic victory in the Game Time Division of the 2012 National
Cheerleader Association championship and does hereby extend best wishes to the
cheerleaders, coaches, and everyone involved with this fine cheerleading program as they
celebrate their exceptional achievements and prepare for continued success in the future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Heather Reeder, head coach, and Mike Milstead, principal.
