HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 117
BY REPRESENTATIVES SCHEXNAYDER, GAINES, AND MILLER
A RESOLUTION
To commend the St. Charles Catholic High School football team upon winning the 2011
Class 3A state championship.
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Catholic High School football team completed a
sensational and unforgettable season, earning the title of 2011 Class 3A state champions
after defeating Amite High School by a score of 9-8 to win the state championship game at
the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on Saturday, December 10, 2011; and
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Catholic High School football team finished the thrilling
and historic 2011 season with an undefeated record of 15-0; and
WHEREAS, the members of the team performed at the highest level of excellence
throughout the 2011 season and playoffs, and each of these great Comets deserves
recognition for his vital contributions to the winning effort: Austin Weber, Brandon
Hubbard, Marcus Hall, Jordan Favorite, Jeffrey Hall, Ross Authement, Donnie Savoie,
Connor Western, Dane Authement, Macky Cortez, Chad McNeil, Jemal Baptiste, Felix
Joseph, Allen Hooker, Erron Lewis, Evin Stein, Sammy Miller, Tyler Thibodeaux, Garrett
Lubin, Andrew Poulos, Justin Dubose, Cody Ortego, Sam McMahon, Eric Lewis, Mario
Young, Corey Tassin, Brandon Zimmer, Cameron Torres, Austin Douroux, Dustin Satterlee,

WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved
without the guidance and skills of head coach Frank Monica, assistant coaches Paul
Waguespack, Ty Monica, Wayne Stein, Tom Buisson, Chris Perrone, Mike Pecoraro, Jerry
Schexnayder, Millard Roberson, and Alex Vicknair, as well as all of the other individuals
who have contributed to the success of the school's football program; and
WHEREAS, the team's outstanding 2011 season upholds the glorious tradition of the
Comets and all St. Charles Catholic High School alumni and fans recognize the immense
pride and distinguished honor that the team brings to its school, community, and state.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the St. Charles Catholic High School
football team upon winning the 2011 Class 3A state championship and does hereby extend
best wishes to the players, coaches, and everyone involved with this fine football program
as they celebrate their exceptional season and prepare for continued success in the future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Frank Monica, head coach of the St. Charles Catholic High School football team.
