HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 127

A RESOLUTION
To urge and request the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development to
reduce the speed limit on Louisiana Highway 308 in Lafourche Parish to forty miles
per hour from the Audubon Street Bridge traveling westwardly to the intersection of
Louisiana Highway 308 and Rosedown Drive.
WHEREAS, increased traffic volumes throughout the city of Thibodaux have led
to motor vehicles taking alternate routes such as Louisiana Highway 308 to reach their
destinations in the city; and
WHEREAS, the increased traffic volumes on Louisiana Highway 308 have led to
speeding on this two-lane highway through the city of Thibodaux; and
WHEREAS, the speed limit at the eastern city limit of Thibodaux is currently fifty
miles per hour, with its first decreased speed zone well into the city limits at Rosedown
Drive.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby urge and request the Department of Transportation and
Development to reduce the speed limit on Louisiana Highway 308 in Lafourche Parish to
forty miles per hour from the Audubon Street Bridge traveling westwardly to the
intersection of Louisiana Highway 308 and Rosedown Drive.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of the Resolution be transmitted
to the secretary of the Department of Transportation and Development.
