ENROLLED Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2012 HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 168 BY REPRESENTATIVE FOIL A RESOLUTION To urge and request the division of administration, office of state purchasing, to report on the status of the implementation of R.S. 39:364, relative to the purchase and use of certain fleet vehicles which are capable of and equipped for using an alternative fuel, and present such report to the House Appropriations Committee no later than December 31, 2012. WHEREAS, R.S. 39:364 was enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana in the 1990 Regular Session and provided for the purchase or lease of fleet vehicles that are capable of or equipped for using an alternative fuel; and WHEREAS, R.S. 39:394 was amended by the Legislature of Louisiana in the 2008 Regular Session to include the use of hybrid vehicles in the state fleet; and WHEREAS, state monies can be saved by the use of such vehicles through cheaper fueling and maintenance costs; and WHEREAS, Louisiana is a leading producer of several alternative fuels including liquefied petroleum gas and natural gas. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby urge and request the division of administration, office of state purchasing, to report on the status of the implementation of R.S. 39:364, relative to the purchase and use of certain fleet vehicles which are capable of and equipped for using an alternative fuel, since enactment of the law in 1990 and further since the law was amended in 2008. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the division of administration, office of state purchasing, shall present such report to the House Appropriations Committee no later than December 31, 2012.
