AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 11:1902(30) and (31), relative to the Parochial Employees' Retirement2
System; to provide for definitions; to provide for an effective date; and to provide3
for related matters.4
Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. R.S. 11:1902(30) and (31) are hereby enacted to read as follows: 7
ยง1902. Definitions8
As used in this Chapter, the following words and phrases shall have the9
following meanings, unless a different meaning is plainly required by context:10

(30) "Tier 1" means the benefit structure applicable to members hired12
prior to January 1, 2007.13
(31) "Tier 2" means the benefit structure applicable to members hired14
on or after January 1, 2007.15
Section 2. This Act shall become effective on June 30, 2012; if vetoed by the16
governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on17
June 30, 2012, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later.18
