AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 15:541(2)(k) and (25)(f), relative to the registration of sex2
offenders; to provide relative to certain definitions; and to provide for related3
matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1. R.S. 15:541(2)(k) and (25)(f) are hereby amended and reenacted to read6
as follows: 7
ยง541. Definitions8
For the purposes of this Chapter, the definitions of terms in this Section shall9
apply:10

(2) "Aggravated offense" means a conviction for the perpetration or12
attempted perpetration of, or conspiracy to commit, any of the following:13

(k) Molestation of a juvenile or a person with a physical or mental15
disability prosecuted under the provisions of R.S. 14:81.2(C)(1), (D)(1), or (D)(2).16

(25) "Sexual offense against a victim who is a minor" means a conviction for18
the perpetration or attempted perpetration of, or conspiracy to commit, any of the19
following:20

(f) Molestation of a juvenile or a person with a physical or mental22
disability (R.S. 14:81.2), except when prosecuted under the provisions of R.S.23
14:81.2(C)(1), (D)(1), or (D)(2).24

Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not1
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature2
by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.  If3
vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become4
effective on the day following such approval.5
