Regular Session, 2012 ENROLLED SENATE BILL NO. 169 BY SENATORS ALLAIN, LONG, RISER, THOMPSON AND WALSWORTH AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 3:730.3(B)(1) and (D), relative to the membership of the2 Louisiana Strawberry Marketing Board; to decrease the membership of the board;3 to provide for quorum; to provide for technical corrections; and to provide for related4 matters.5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6 Section 1. R.S. 3:730.3(B)(1) and (D) are hereby amended and reenacted to read as7 follows: 8 ยง730.3. Louisiana Strawberry Marketing Board9 * * *10 B. (1) The board shall consist of fourteen twelve members. Eleven Nine11 members shall be appointed by the commissioner and confirmed by the Senate as12 follows:13 (a) Seven members shall be practicing strawberry producers.14 (b) One member shall be a banker with knowledge of the strawberry industry.15 (c) One member shall be an agricultural chemical dealer, representative, or16 consultant with knowledge of the strawberry industry.17 (d)(c) One member shall be a consumer with knowledge of the strawberry18 industry.19 (e) One member shall be a person with a financial interest in the strawberry20 industry.21 * * *22 D. The presence of seven six members of the board shall constitute a quorum23 for the transaction of all business and the carrying out of duties of the board. Each24 member shall take and subscribe to the oath of office prescribed for state officers. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not4 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature5 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.
