Regular Session, 2012 ENROLLED SENATE BILL NO. 285 BY SENATOR ADLEY AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 22:835(F) and 835.1, relative to the dedication of a portion of the fire marshal2 tax receipts; to provide for the dedication of a portion of such receipts for fire3 protection at Camp Minden; to create the Camp Minden Fire Protection Fund as a4 special fund in the state treasury; to provide for the use of monies in the fund; to5 provide for an effective date; and to provide for related matters.6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7 Section 1. R.S. 22:835(F) and 835.1 are hereby enacted to read as follows: 8 §835. Fire marshal tax; Louisiana Fire Marshal Fund9 * * *10 F. Each year, after satisfaction of the provisions of Subsections C and11 D of this Section, and before any unexpended or unencumbered monies in the12 Louisiana Fire Marshal Fund shall revert to the state general fund, the state13 treasurer shall transfer the amount of fifty thousand dollars to the Camp14 Minden Fire Protection Fund as provided by R.S. 22:835.1.15 §835.1. Camp Minden Fire Protection Fund16 A. There is hereby created in the state treasury, as a special fund, the17 Camp Minden Fire Protection Fund, hereinafter referred to as the "fund".18 Annually, the state treasurer shall transfer monies into the fund in accordance19 with the provisions of R.S. 22:835(F). Subject to appropriation by the20 legislature, monies in the fund shall be used solely to provide fire protection at21 the National Guard Installation at Camp Minden, to be used to contract with22 an independent fire district to provide for fire protection for Camp Minden.23 Such contract shall be between the independent fire district and the Louisiana24 National Guard.25 ACT No. 546 SB NO. 285 ENROLLED Page 2 of 2 Coding: Words which are struck through are deletions from existing law; words in boldface type and underscored are additions. B. All unexpended and unencumbered monies in the fund at the end of1 each fiscal year shall remain in the fund. The monies in the fund shall be2 invested by the state treasurer in the same manner as monies in the state3 general fund and interest earned on the investment of these monies shall be4 credited to the state general fund.5 Section 2.
