SENATE BILL NO. 322
BY SENATOR PEACOCK 
INTERGOVERN RELATIONS. Allows residents of Arkansas, Mississippi, or Texas to
purchase recreational hunting and fishing licenses at resident rates. (See Act)
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 56:644, relative to hunting and fishing; to provide exemptions of residents of2
certain states from hunting and fishing licensing requirements; to allow residents of3
Arkansas, Mississippi, or Texas to purchase hunting and recreational fishing licenses4
at resident rates; to provide conditions for hunting and fishing licensing agreements;5
and to provide for related matters.6
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7
Section 1.  R.S. 56:644 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 8
ยง644. Exemptions of residents of certain states from hunting and recreational9
fishing licensing requirements; reciprocity10
Any person who possesses an identification card or driver's license that11
signifies that he is currently a resident of either the state of Arkansas,12
Mississippi, or Texas may be issued an annual license for hunting or13
recreational fishing in Louisiana after payment of the same fee as that required14
of Louisiana residents for that same license. This Section shall only take effect15
and become operative if, as, and when such states grant reciprocal privileges to16
the residents of Louisiana.17 SB NO. 322

DIGEST
Proposed law provides that residents of Arkansas, Mississippi, or Texas shall be allowed to
purchase an annual hunting or recreational fishing license in Louisiana for the same fee as
that required of a Louisiana resident. 
Proposed law provides that proposed law is effective upon each state providing the same
privileges to residents of Louisiana.
