Regular Session, 2012 ENROLLED SENATE BILL NO. 381 BY SENATOR BROOME AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 24:972(A)(22), R.S. 36:4(N) and the heading of 802.14, the title2 of Chapter 17 of Title 49 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, the introductory3 paragraph of R.S. 49:1112(A) and (B)(2)(a) and 1122 and to repeal R.S. 49:1121,4 relative to the Louisiana Serve Commission; to provide for a change in the name of5 the commission; and to provide for related matters.6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7 Section 1. R.S. 24:972(A)(22) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:8 §972. Membership; meetings; compensation; staff9 A. The commission shall consist of the following members:10 * * *11 (22) The chairman of the Louisiana Serve Volunteer Louisiana12 Commission, or his designee.13 * * *14 Section 2. R.S. 36:4(N) and the heading of 802.14 are hereby amended and15 reenacted to read as follows:16 §4. Structure of executive branch of state government17 * * *18 N. The Louisiana Serve Volunteer Louisiana Commission, as more19 specifically provided for in R.S. 49:1111 through 1122 et seq., shall be placed within20 the office of the lieutenant governor and shall exercise its powers, duties, and21 functions in accordance with the provisions of R.S. 36:802.14.22 * * *23 §802.14. LOUISIANA SERVE VOLUNTEER LOUISIANA COMMISSION3 * * *4 §1112. Commission established; purposes; membership; officers5 A. The Louisiana Serve Volunteer Louisiana Commission, hereinafter6 referred to in this Chapter as "commission", is hereby established in the executive7 branch of state government in the office of the lieutenant governor. The commission8 is hereby declared to be a body corporate and public, exercising public and essential9 governmental functions. The domicile of the commission shall be in the city of10 Baton Rouge. The purpose of the commission shall be to:11 * * *12 B. * * *13 (2)(a) Subject to confirmation by the Senate, the members serving on June14 27, 1995, on the Louisiana Serve Volunteer Louisiana Commission created by15 Executive Order EWE 93-48 shall complete the terms designated thereunder.16 * * *17 §1122. Termination of the commission18 The Louisiana Serve Volunteer Louisiana Commission and all statutory19 authority for the Louisiana Serve Volunteer Louisiana Commission shall terminate20 upon the failure of the legislature to appropriate federal funds for the commission.21 Section 4.
