AGRICULTURE/FOREST DEPT. Authorizes the Dept. of Agriculture and Forestry to
administer the surface water management plan. (gov sig)
AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 3:2(G), relative to the authority of the Department of Agriculture2
and Forestry; to provide for the administration of the surface water management3
plan; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  R.S. 3:2(G) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 6
ยง2. Creation, powers, and duties of Department of Agriculture and Forestry and the7
commissioner of agriculture and forestry8

G. The department shall have the power and authority to administer the10
state's management plan of surface water for the purpose of agricultural,11
forestry and aquacultural use.12
Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not13
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature14
by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If15
vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become16
effective on the day following such approval.17 SB NO. 498
