AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 11:1651(B)(introductory paragraph) and (2)(a), relative to the2
board of trustees of the District Attorneys' Retirement System; to provide for board3
membership; to increase the number of active members on the board; to specify that4
one active member shall be an assistant district attorney; to provide for an effective5
date; and to provide for related matters.6
Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published.7
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:8
Section 1. R.S. 11:1651(B)(introductory paragraph) and (2)(a) are hereby amended9
and reenacted to read as follows: 10
ยง1651. Board of trustees; membership; vacancies; compensation11

B. The board shall consist of eight nine trustees as follows:13

(2)(a) Five Six active and contributing members of the system , at least one15
of whom shall be an assistant district attorney, who shall each have at least ten16
years of creditable service and who shall be elected by the members of the District17
Attorneys' Retirement System according to such rules and regulations as the board18
of trustees shall adopt to govern such elections, shall serve as members for terms of19
five years each.20

Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2012; if vetoed by the governor1
and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,2
2012, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later.3
