DIGEST
Present law lists persons to be licensed by the Louisiana Motor Vehicle Commission to
engage in business in the state regardless of whether or not the person maintains or has a
place or places of business in the state, and who would be in violation of state law to operate
without first obtaining a license. Requires that the commission license auto shows, trade
shows, and exhibitions, including promoters under these provisions in present law.
Proposed law retains these provisions in the present law but includes with promoters any
nonresident exhibitors.
Effective August 1, 2012.
