AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 47:1508(B)(30) and (31), relative to the Department of Revenue; to provide2
with respect to the confidentiality of taxpayer records; to authorize the sharing of3
information to the Public Service Commission and the Louisiana Senate and House4
of Representatives in certain circumstances; and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1.  R.S. 47:1508(B)(30)and (31) are hereby enacted to read as follows: 7

B. Nothing herein contained shall be construed to prevent:10

(30) The sharing or furnishing, in the discretion of the secretary, of12
information to the Public Service Commission for the purposes of determining,13
investigating and enforcing the provisions of R.S. 45:1177.  Any information14
shared or furnished shall be considered and held confidential and privileged by15
the Public Service Commission to the same extent provided for in Subsection A16
of this Section.17
(31) The furnishing of information to the secretary of the Senate and the18
clerk of the House of Representatives regarding whether any person nominated19
or appointed to a board, commission, committee, corporation, district, or other20
office or position that requires confirmation, approval, or election by the Senate21
or the House of Representatives has filed tax returns or owes a liability for the22
previous five years. Any information so furnished shall be considered23

confidential and privileged by the Senate or the House of Representatives to the1
same extent provided for in Subsection A of this Section.2
