AN ACT1
To repeal R.S. 15:823, relative to corrections services; to provide relative to the director of2
corrections; to repeal reference to the director of corrections; and to provide for3
related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  R.S. 15:823 is hereby repealed.6

Morrell (SB 94)
Present law provides that the director of corrections shall be the chief executive,
administrative, budgetary and fiscal officer of the Department of Corrections and defines the
responsibilities of the position.
Proposed law repeals this provision of present law.
Effective August 1, 2012.
