SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 120
BY SENATOR HEITMEIER AND REPRESENTATIVE SIMON
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To commend Jodi Wilson upon her thirty-three years of outstanding service and dedication
to the citizens of the state of Louisiana and to congratulate her on the occasion of her
retirement from the Department of Health and Hospitals.
WHEREAS, Ms. Wilson is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, in 1979 Ms. Wilson began her service in the budget office of the
Department of Health and Human Resources, the predecessor agency to the Department of
Health and Hospitals (DHH); and
WHEREAS, Ms. Wilson subsequently held positions within several offices of DHH,
including the office of mental health, the Medicaid section, and the office of the secretary
of DHH; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Wilson broadened her already extensive knowledge of the budget
process while working at the Department of Social Services, predecessor agency to the
Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and the Department of Education; and
WHEREAS, in 2009 Ms. Wilson served as acting budget director for DHH during
very difficult budget times and she provided knowledgeable support and advice in this
essential leadership role; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Wilson will retire from DHH as the assistant budget director, again
having provided essential assistance in yet another difficult budget year; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Wilson is the widow of Stewart Wilson Jr., who was also a DHH
employee, and they have one grown daughter, Chelsea; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Wilson has dedicated years of her life to the state of Louisiana and
its citizens and has touched the lives of so many who have had the privilege to learn from,
work with, and to know Ms. Wilson; and
WHEREAS, upon her retirement, Ms. Wilson is looking forward to spending more
time with family and friends, traveling, and working in her community. SCR NO. 120 ENROLLED

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
acknowledge with gratitude and commend Ms. Jodi Wilson for her outstanding service of
thirty-three years to DHH and the citizens of the state of Louisiana and congratulates and
does hereby wish her well on the occasion of her retirement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Ms.
Jodi Wilson.
