SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 75
BY SENATORS PEACOCK AND ADLEY AND REPRESENTATI VE THOMPSON 
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To commend and congratulate Taylor Cox on being elected President of the Student
Government Association at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
WHEREAS, Taylor Cox is a twenty-one year old junior at Louisiana State University
in Baton Rouge studying mass communications with a concentration in public relations; and
WHEREAS, he was recently elected president of the LSU Student Government
Association marking the first time a Bossier City native has occupied the office; and
WHEREAS, Taylor Cox is the son of Richard and Susan Cox of Bossier City and
was president of the Airline High School Student Government Association prior to his
graduation in 2009; and 
WHEREAS, as LSU SGA president, he will be the voice of more than twenty-nine
thousand students; and
WHEREAS, among his goals as president are to lead the fight against further budget
cuts in higher education; to implement a co-curricular transcript to make students more
marketable; and to create Tiger Night, a weekly alcohol-free networking event on campus
to maintain a level of diversity; and 
WHEREAS, Taylor Cox wants LSU students to feel like valuable members of the
Tiger family and know that LSU is their home away from home; and
WHEREAS, he hopes to open a leadership development camp after graduation; and
WHEREAS, Taylor Cox is certainly a future leader of society and has achieved
success through determination and motivation.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana hereby
congratulates and commends Taylor Cox on being elected as President of the Student
Government Association at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. SCR NO. 75	ENROLLED

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature joins his family, professors, and
classmates for recognizing and inspiring him to set and achieve extraordinary goals and be
a visionary with passion.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Taylor Cox.
