SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 122
BY SENATOR JOHN SMITH 
A RESOLUTION
To commend Billy Ray Spikes for thirty-eight years of dedicated and loyal service with the
City of DeRidder Fire Department.
WHEREAS, Firefighter/Operator Billy Ray Spikes has served as a dedicated
employee of the City of DeRidder Fire Department from October 3, 1983, until his
retirement on April 1, 2012; and 
WHEREAS, he has also made a great impact on the community as an advocate for
young people, always working to keep the local youth involved in positive activities; and 
WHEREAS, during the years he worked for the DeRidder Fire Department,
Firefighter/Operator Spikes served the community with honor, integrity, and courage.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend Firefighter/Operator Billy Ray Spikes for thirty-eight years of
dedicated service with the City of DeRidder Fire Department.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that best wishes are extended to Billy Ray Spikes for
success in his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Billy
Ray Spikes.
