SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 128
BY SENATOR WALSWORTH 
A RESOLUTION
To commend Dr. Prem Menon for his contributions and achievements in medicine.
WHEREAS, Prem Menon, MD, is a nationally recognized specialist in the treatment
of allergy, asthma, anaphylaxis and primary immunodeficiency diseases; and 
WHEREAS, these medical conditions affect millions of Americans resulting in
doctors' office and urgent care visits, hospitalizations, lost school and workdays, significant
morbidity, mortality, and millions of dollars in treatment costs and wages; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Menon has been recognized by numerous organizations for his
dedication to his field, including being named as one of the Best Doctors in America by
Castle Connolly Medical, Ltd., and was listed in America's Top Physicians by Consumers
Research Council of America; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Menon has served as the president of the Louisiana State Society
of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, as coordinator of the Nationwide Asthma Screening
Program of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, ACAAI, and
currently represents the Allergy and Asthma Network/Mothers of Asthmatics (AAN MA)
as their Anaphalaxis Community Expert; and
WHEREAS, he has been conducting Asthma and Allergy Awareness Day at the
Louisiana State Capitol annually for the past eleven years to provide information and asthma
screenings; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Menon has been involved in the training of the next generation of
doctors by participating in the Family Practice and Internal Medicine Residency Training
Programs at the Baton Rouge General Hospital and has received recognition as the Teaching
Allergist of the Year by the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and

WHEREAS, Dr. Menon's work in asthma care with the school nurses and students
of the East Baton Rouge Parish public schools earned him the Recognition Award of the
Healthcare Centers in Schools; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Menon's philanthropic work in the field of allergy and asthma has
earned him the Mother's Choice Award of the AAN MA and the Humanitarian Project
Development Award of the American College of Chest Physician's CHEST Foundation; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Menon's overall achievements in the field of medicine has earned
him the Excellence in Medicine and Leadership Award of the American Medical
Association.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby recognize and commend Dr. Prem Menon for his contributions to the field of
medicine and his work in medical education, community outreach and volunteerism.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Dr.
Prem Menon.
