Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2012 ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 138 BY SENATOR JOHN SMITH A RESOLUTION To commend and congratulate the players and coaches of the Anacoco High School Lady Indians on winning the Class B Girls High School State Softball Championship. WHEREAS, it is with great pride that the citizens of Louisiana have learned of the first state championship title earned by the Anacoco Lady Indians High School Softball Team; and WHEREAS, Brandie Perkins, Nicole Wenthe, D'Ambra Perkins, Marci West, Kaslyn Baggs, Abigail Sellers, Sydney Sons, Shelby Dowden, Taylor Mason, Alaina Sellers, Saria Fanene, Allie Haymon, Nicole Fitzgerald, Kinsley Blakeway, and Suzette Kuhlow, under the tutelage of head coach Chase Stringer and assistant coach Roy Sons, completed their season with an impressive undefeated district record of eight wins and no losses and an outstanding winning overall season record of twenty-two wins and only eight losses; and WHEREAS, the distinguished performance of the Anacoco High School Lady Indians Softball Team during the 2012 season culminated in an exciting 9-1 victory over Quitman High School in the state finals which lead the Anacoco Lady Indians to capture their first ever Class B State Softball Title; and WHEREAS, Coaches Chase Stringer and Roy Sons utilize the softball field as a nontraditional classroom in which they employ their acute knowledge, impassioned conviction, and amiable demeanor to enlighten the minds and forge the character of their players at Anacoco High School, instilling indispensable principles within the young women to assist them in attaining success in their future endeavors; and WHEREAS, the members of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana wish to recognize each of these extraordinary young women on their much deserved championship title earned through teamwork, determination, and dedication to the sport. SR NO. 138 ENROLLED Page 2 of 2 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and congratulate the players and coaches of the Anacoco High School Lady Indians Softball Team on an impressive and memorable season, and on capturing the Class B Girls High School State Softball Championship. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be presented to the Anacoco High School Lady Indians' head coach, Chase Stringer, and to the principal of Anacoco High School, Towanda Willrodt.
