SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 139

A RESOLUTION
To commend Charles Robichaux on his years of service as principal at Meaux Elementary
School in Vermilion Parish and to recognize him on the occasion of his retirement.
WHEREAS, Charles Robichaux has served the state of Louisiana and the citizens
of Vermilion Parish in the education field for fifty years; and
WHEREAS, he has served as the principal at Meaux Elementary School since 1983;
and
WHEREAS, during Mr. Robichaux's tenure at Meaux Elementary School, enrollment
has tripled; and
WHEREAS, under his leadership Meaux Elementary School has been one of the best
schools in Vermilion Parish with consistently high scores on standardized tests; and
WHEREAS, if not for health reasons, Mr. Robichaux would have liked to continue
as principal well into the future; and
WHEREAS, he is loved and respected by the Vermilion Parish educational
community, parents, former students, and current Meaux Elementary School students; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Robichaux is married to former educator Peggy Robichaux who is
the love of his life.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend Charles Robichaux on his years of service as principal at Meaux
Elementary School in Vermilion Parish and recognizes him on the occasion of his
retirement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Charles Robichaux.
