Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2012 ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 140 BY SENATOR PERRY A RESOLUTION To commend Benny Dronet for forty-three years of teaching and forty-one years of coaching at Delcambre High School and to congratulate him upon the occasion of his retirement. WHEREAS, Benny Dronet graduated from Delcambre High School in 1965 and lettered in football, basketball, and track; and WHEREAS, during his senior year, he tied for first place in pole vaulting at the state track meet by clearing twelve feet; and WHEREAS, in 1969, Mr. Dronet graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in physical education and science; and WHEREAS, he began his teaching and coaching career at Delcambre High School in the fall of 1969; and WHEREAS, he taught science for four years and, subsequently, taught math at Indian Bayou High School for three years; and WHEREAS, in 1976, he returned to his alma mater, Delcambre High School, to teach math and in 1987, he was the driving force behind the creation of a golf team; and WHEREAS, Mr. Dronet taught driver's education in Iberia Parish during the summer months for twenty-eight years; and WHEREAS, Mr. Dronet will forever remain a beloved member of the Delcambre High School Panthers family for the wonderful guidance he gave his players and students both on and off the field and in the classroom, and for challenging them to succeed not only as athletes and as students, but as well-rounded human beings; and WHEREAS, the strength and vitality of Louisiana communities depend in great measure upon the talents and dedication of educators and coaches like Benny Dronet. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Benny Dronet upon his retirement as a teacher and a coach at Delcambre High School after forty-three years of teaching and forty-one years of dedicated and highly productive service to Louisiana athletics, does hereby recognize and record his SR NO. 140 ENROLLED Page 2 of 2 notable contributions to his students, colleagues, family, friends, community, and state, and does hereby extend to him best wishes for success and happiness in all of his future endeavors. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Benny Dronet. PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE
