Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2012 ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 155 BY SENATOR CLAITOR A RESOLUTION To commend and congratulate Pat R. Van Burkleo on being selected as National Executive of the Year by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America's Professional Association. WHEREAS, Pat R. Van Burkleo is a passionate, determined, and willing voice for young people who need it most and is a visionary leader in the Baton Rouge community, the state of Louisiana and the national Boys & Girls Club Movement; and WHEREAS, he serves as president and chief professional officer at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge and was one of five regional winners to be considered for the National Executive of the Year Award; and WHEREAS, Pat R. Van Burkleo has been serving the Baton Rouge community and the Boys & Girls Club for 22 years and the impact of his service is evident in the way the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge has grown through his tenure - from one Club location in an old fire station on Winbourne Avenue that served 65 young boys, to 11 Club sites currently serving nearly 10,000 school-age youth annually; and WHEREAS, through his vision and persistence, Van Burkleo has implemented highly effective programs and leads an outcome-driven organization with proven, measurable results; and WHEREAS, the Boys & Girls Club believes that every child, no matter their life's circumstances, deserves access to the tools necessary to succeed in life and Pat R. Van Burkleo's service to the community is a result of his desire to improve the lives of children; and WHEREAS, because of his exemplary leadership, he has been named National Executive of the Year by Boys & Girls Clubs of America's Professional Association. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Pat R. Van Burkleo is hereby commended and congratulated on being named the National Executive of the Year by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America's Professional Association.
