Page 1 of 1 Regular Session, 2012 ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 160 BY SENATOR WALSWORTH A RESOLUTION To commend the West Monroe High School football team for winning the 2011 Class 5A state football championship game in the Louisiana Superdome in the Louisiana High School Athletic Association State Farm Prep Classic. WHEREAS, the West Monroe High School football team greatly distinguished itself with an extraordinary performance in the 2011 state football championship playoffs after a hard-fought season in which they defeated thirteen highly talented opponents and suffered only two defeats on the road to the title; and WHEREAS, the West Monroe High School Rebels continued their roles as champions of one of the highest caliber high school football programs in the nation under the brilliant leadership of Head Coach Don Shows; and WHEREAS, the 2011 Rebel football team proved its dominance of Louisiana's Class 5A bracket with its performance in the Superdome, and joined the ranks of other northeast Louisiana elite champions such as Class 1A Ouachita Christian High School and Class 4A Neville High School, and brought high praise to the outstanding athletes of Ouachita Parish. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby extend its highest commendations to the West Monroe High School Rebels for a history-making 2011 football season and the glory achieved in that endeavor. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to West Monroe High School. PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE
