Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2012 ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 190 BY SENATOR CORTEZ A RESOLUTION To congratulate the Bayou Roux band and its members on being selected as the final act of the Country Rendez-vous Festival in Craponne, France, on July 27-29, 2012 and recognizes the band and its members as honorary ambassadors of Louisiana's music, culture, and people to France at the festival. WHEREAS, the Country Rendez-vous Festival held in Craponne, France, will celebrate its twenty-fifth anniversary on July 27-29, 2012, and is an event which draws over ten thousand people per day; and WHEREAS, the band Bayou Roux, "A Cajun Commotion", has been selected to perform as the final act of the festival; and WHEREAS, Bayou Roux was formed in 1992, specializes in high energy, multi- harmony, and multi-style variety shows, and has performed over five hundred shows; and WHEREAS, Bayou Roux's show is unique in that it features elements of Zydeco music, real Cajun Music, and a N'awlins style second line parade on the stage with costumes, horns, and drums which throws beads from the stage to the audience, projecting the Mardi Gras image; and WHEREAS, Bayou Roux band members include Keith Dupuis - accordion, percussion, and vocals; Mike Bourgeois- drums, percussion, and vocals; Ted Lee - bass and vocals; Ken Reynolds - guitar and vocals; Dwayne Boehnemann - keyboards and vocals; Donnie Simmons - guitar and vocals; Dixon Shanks - saxophone, percussion, and vocals; and James Marshall - trumpet, percussion, and vocals. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana that the Bayou Roux band and its members are hereby congratulated on being selected as the final act of the Country Rendez-vous Festival in Craponne, France, on July 27-29, 2012.
