AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 32:387.12(A), relative to annual noncritical off-road equipment2
permits; to allow noncritical off-road equipment with additional axle configurations3
to obtain an annual permit; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1. R.S. 32:387.12(A) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:6
ยง387.12. Annual noncritical off-road equipment permit; authorization7
A. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the secretary8
shall promulgate rules and regulations in accordance with the Administrative9
Procedure Act as may be necessary to provide for an annual noncritical off-road10
equipment permit. "Noncritical off-road equipment" means either vehicles or11
combinations of vehicles without booster units, or vehicles with a single-single,12
single-tandem, single-triple, or tandem-tandem axle configuration in which no single13
axle is in excess of thirty thousand pounds nor tandem or triple axles in excess of14
fifty-four thousand pounds, as defined in the manual entitled "Louisiana Regulations15
for Trucks, Vehicles and Loads", or those vehicles classified as noncritical off-road16
equipment by the department.17
