ACT No. 36 Regular Session, 2013 HOUSE BILL NO. 272 BY REPRESENTATIVE GREENE AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 37:711.20(A) and to enact R.S. 37:711.13(D) and 711.20(C),2 relative to the Louisiana Professional Geoscience Practice Act; to provide for license3 application fees; to provide for license renewal fees; and to provide for related4 matters.5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6 Section 1. R.S. 37:711.20(A) is hereby amended and reenacted and R.S.7 37:711.13(D) and 711.20(C) are hereby enacted to read as follows:8 §711.13. Application for licensure or certification; fees9 * * *10 D.(1) An application fee for professional geoscientists or geoscientists-in-11 training shall be established at the discretion of the board but shall not exceed two12 hundred dollars and shall not be increased by the board by more than thirty dollars13 in any three-year period.14 (2) The application fee shall accompany the application. If the board denies15 the issuance of a license or certification to any applicant, the application fee shall be16 retained by the board. An unsuccessful applicant shall pay the prescribed fee for17 each subsequent application.18 * * *19 §711.20. Expiration and renewals; fees20 A. Licensure and certification shall expire at a time specified by the board21 and shall become invalid after that date unless renewed. The notice shall be mailed at least2 one month in advance of the expiration of such license or certificate. Renewal of3 licensure as a professional geoscientist or geoscientist-in-training may be effected4 at any time during the two months prior to expiration by the payment of a fee not to5 exceed one hundred fifty dollars per year at the discretion of the board. The board6 shall not increase the renewal fee by more than twenty dollars in any one-year7 period.8 * * *9 C.
