HOUSE BILL NO. 398

APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT:  Appropriates funds for payment of judgment in the
matter of "Allen Washington and Sandra Washington, et al v. State of Louisiana
DOTD, et al"
AN ACT1
To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2013-2
2014 to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled "Allen Washington3
and Sandra Washington, individually and on behalf of their minor children: Allen4
Washington, Jr., Samantha Washington and Allandra Washington v. State of5
Louisiana through the Department of Transportation and Development, Jermaine6
Brisco, Bayou Steel Corporation, and ABC Insurance Company"; and to provide for7
related matters.8
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:9
Section 1. The sum of One Million Five Hundred Thousand and No/10010
($1,500,000.00) Dollars, is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund of the state of11
Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2013-2014 to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit12
entitled "Allen Washington and Sandra Washington, individually and on behalf of their13
minor children: Allen Washington, Jr., Samantha Washington and Allandra Washington v.14
State of Louisiana through the Department of Transportation and Development, Jermaine15
Brisco, Bayou Steel Corporation, and ABC Insurance Company", bearing Number 60,176,16
Division "D" on the docket of the Twenty-Ninth Judicial District Court, parish of St.17

Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2013; if vetoed by the governor1
and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,2
2013, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later. 3
