ACT No. 324 Regular Session, 2013 HOUSE BILL NO. 593 BY REPRESENTATIVES POPE AND HOFFMANN Prefiled pursuant to Article III, Section 2(A)(4)(b)(i) of the Constitution of Louisiana. AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 56:104(A)(9), relative to hunting licenses; provides that a2 nonresident student enrolled in a Louisiana high school may purchase hunting3 licenses for the same cost as a resident; and to provide for related matters.4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5 Section 1. R.S. 56:104(A)(9) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:6 ยง104. License fees; reciprocity; exceptions7 A. No license shall be issued under this Part unless there has been previously8 paid a fee or fees as hereinafter set forth:9 * * *10 (9)(a) Any person who is not a resident of the state of Louisiana but who is11 a full-time student enrolled in an accredited college or university that has a physical12 campus in the state of Louisiana may purchase a nonresident basic hunting license13 for the cost of a resident hunting license as provided in Paragraph (1) of this14 Subsection. Any licenses or permits which that may be required in addition to the15 basic hunting license, such as a big game license or a duck license or a turkey16 license, may also be purchased for the cost of the equivalent resident license or17 permit. In order to purchase a license under the provisions of this Paragraph18 Subparagraph, the person shall provide to the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries19 verification of his full-time status. Such verification may be provided through the20 mail. (b) Any person who is sixteen years of age or older and who is not a resident1 of the state of Louisiana but who is enrolled as a full-time or part-time student in a2 public or private high school in the state of Louisiana may purchase a nonresident3 basic hunting license for the cost of a resident hunting license as provided in4 Paragraph (1) of this Subsection. Any licenses or permits that may be required in5 addition to the basic hunting license, such as a big game license or a duck license or6 a turkey license, may also be purchased for the cost of the equivalent resident license7 or permit.
