GERMAIN, STOKES, TALBOT, THIBAUT, THIERRY, THOMPSON, WHITNEY, ALFRED WILLIAMS, PATRICK WILLIAMS, AND WILLMOTT A RESOLUTION To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Gerald Paul Doiron, Sr., of Houma. WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that members of the Louisiana House of Representatives have learned of the death of Gerald Paul Doiron, Sr., on Friday, May 31, 2013, at the age of seventy-nine; and WHEREAS, Gerald Paul Doiron, Sr., was born to the late Clayton and Marguerite Doiron in Houma, Louisiana, on July 16, 1933, and was the oldest boy of eight children; and WHEREAS, Mr. Doiron attended St. Francis de Sales School and graduated in 1951, he was on the first football team at the school, was crowned homecoming king, and was the first recipient of the Bishop Schexnayder Award; and WHEREAS, Mr. Doiron served his country honorably in the United States Army for many years; and WHEREAS, Mr. Doiron was a man of passion and diligence who went to electronic trade school after leaving the military, and was the owner of Doiron's T.V. Sales & Service for fifty years. He was known as the "TV" man among many in Houma and was assisted in the business by his son, Jerry, who will never forget all of the knowledge and wisdom his greatest mentor, his father, gave him; and ENROLLEDHR NO. 158 Page 2 of 2 WHEREAS, Mr. Doiron was a devout Catholic and parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church; and WHEREAS, Mr. Doiron was married to his beloved wife, Kathleen Griffin, for thirty-nine years; and WHEREAS, Mr. Doiron was a devoted father to Becky Blanchard, Brenda Doiron, Gerald "Jerry" Doiron, Jr., Beth McNamara, Bridget Lusco, and Amanda Falgoust; and WHEREAS, Mr. Doiron was a wonderful grandfather to Danielle Doiron Leger, Brandon McNamara, Brent McNamara, Lauren Lusco, Tyler Lusco, Katelyn Falgoust, and Carter Falgoust, and great-grandfather to Braxton McNamara; and WHEREAS, Mr. Doiron enjoyed fishing, playing drums and piano, and spending time with his family; and WHEREAS, Mr. Doiron was the rock of his family, and was known by "daddy", "pawpaw" and "Bruh-man"; and WHEREAS, Mr. Doiron's family is thankful for the many wonderful memories shared while fishing with him, the Tuesday family suppers, the Doiron Christmas parties where he played drums and sang Christmas carols, the many fishing trips at the camp, and many more memories that will be cherished for the rest of their days; and WHEREAS, although his death has left a tremendous void in his community and family, Mr. Doiron's memory shall live on forever in the minds and hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known and loved him. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby extend sincere regrets and condolences to the family of Gerald Paul Doiron, Sr., of Houma on the occasion of his death, and does hereby acknowledge with gratitude his outstanding service, many accomplishments, and extraordinary love for his family. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the family of Gerald Paul Doiron, Sr. SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATI VES
