To provide relative to special funds in the state treasury. (gov sig) AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 39:100.22, relative to special treasury funds; to establish the Balanced Budget2 Support Fund as a special fund in the state treasury; to provide for the transfer,3 dedication, use, investment, and appropriation of the fund; to provide for an effective4 date; and to provide for related matters.5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6 Section 1. R.S. 39:100.22 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7 ยง100.22. Balanced Budget Support Fund8 The Balanced Budget Support Fund, hereinafter referred to as the9 "fund", is hereby created in the state treasury. The source of monies deposited10 into the fund shall be any monies appropriated by the legislature including11 donations, gifts, grants, or any other monies as may be provided by law. Monies12 in the fund shall be used or expended as provided by law. Monies in the fund13 shall be invested in the same manner as monies in the state general fund.14 Interest earned on the investment of monies in the fund shall be deposited in15 and credited to the state general fund. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not1 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature2 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If3 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become4 effective on the day following such approval.5 The original instrument and the following digest, which constitutes no part of the legislative instrument, were prepared by Martha S.
