Provides limitation of liability for good faith reporting of suspicious activity or behavior. (8/1/13) AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 9:2800.23, relative to limitation of liability; to limit liability for the good faith2 reporting of suspicious activity of behavior; to provide certain definitions, terms,3 conditions, procedures, and requirements; and to provide for related matters.4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5 Section 1. R.S. 9:2800.23 is hereby enacted to read as follows:6 §2800.23 Limitation of liability for report of suspicious activity or behavior7 A. A person who in good faith makes a report of suspicious activity or8 behavior as provided in this Section shall be immune from civil and criminal9 liability.10 B. For purposes of this Section, "report of suspicious activity or11 behavior" means any communication to a law enforcement agency or other12 appropriate authority of the behavior or activity of another person that is made13 with the reasonable belief that such behavior or activity constitutes, or is in14 furtherance of, a crime or act of terrorism.15 C. Defines a “report of suspicious behavior or activity” as any communication to a law enforcement agency or other appropriate authority of the behavior or activity of another person that is made with the reasonable belief that such behavior or activity constitutes, or is in furtherance of, a crime or act of terrorism.
