AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 13:783(F)(8), relative to expenses of the offices of clerks of courts; to require2
the payment of medical insurance premium costs for certain retired personnel in St.3
James Parish; to provide for eligibility; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  R.S. 13:783(F)(8) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 6

(8) The clerk of court of St. James Parish, provided sufficient amounts10
are available, shall pay from the clerk's salary fund one hundred percent of the11
premium costs of the group life and accidental death and dismemberment,12
group health, accident, dental, hospital, surgical, or other medical expense13
insurance for any clerk or employee that retires from the St. James Parish clerk14
of court's office who is entitled to receive monthly benefits from the Louisiana15
Clerks' of Court Retirement and Relief Fund, who has at least twenty years of16
full-time service with the clerk of court's office in St. James Parish, and who is17
at least fifty-five years of age. The provisions of this Paragraph shall not apply18
to any other insurance, such as supplemental insurance, that an employee may19
elect to purchase.
