SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 109
BY SENATOR JOHNS AND REPRESENTATI VE GEYMANN 
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To commend the St. Louis Catholic High School Lady Saints track team on winning the
2013 Class 4A Girls Outdoor Track and Field state championship.
WHEREAS, the Lady Saints started and finished strong in a dominant ninety point
win at the Class 4A state track and field championship meet; and
WHEREAS, early in the meet, they picked up sixteen points in the field with Drew
Chatters finishing third in the javelin, and Rhea Thompson winning the shot put with a throw
of thirty-nine feet, eight inches, as well as an incredible win in the discus; and
WHEREAS, a second-place finish by Destinee Delahoussaye in the high jump and
an impressive run in the 4x200-meter relay gave the Lady Saints a seventeen point lead over
the Plaquemine High School Lady Green Devils after seven events; and
WHEREAS, the 4x100-meter relay team of Brianna Soram, Christi Clemons,
Shondalynn Jasmine, and Hannah Jackson won in forty-seven point sixty-eight seconds, and
the Lady Saints scored in the next three events with Brianna Soram finishing third in the
400-meters, Shondalynn Jasmine coming in second in the 300-meter hurdles, and Hannah
Jackson finishing fourth in the 200-meters to go up by twenty points to clinch the
championship title with two events remaining; and
WHEREAS, Lady Saints players Sarah Booth, Christi Clemons, Destinee
Delahoussaye, Jodan Fuselier, Hillary Henning, Drew Chatters, Annaleigh Drost, Madeline
Koenig, Maddie Mack, Frances Thompson, Mallory Baca, Jamie Gilmore, Lauren
Hammond, Hannah Jackson, Elaina Kilpatrick, Mary Claire Shearmann, Brianna Soram,
Sydney Witherwax, Kelsi Berlin, Ellen Briley, Jordan Gautreaux, Shondalynn Jasmine,
Hannah McCloskey, Shayla Stevens, and Rhea Thompson performed with extraordinary
athleticism and skill throughout the regular season and the postseason to earn the

WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved
without the guidance and support of head coach, Tommy Johns, assistant coaches Donovan
Anderson, Johnny Giordano, Trey Harts, Chris Jones, Greg Latour, and Bill Painter, and all
of the other individuals who have contributed to the success of the Lady Saints track
program; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Legislature of Louisiana wish to recognize each of
the coaches and the extraordinary young women of the Lady Saints track team on their much
deserved championship title which was earned through teamwork, determination,
athleticism, and dedication to the sport of track and field.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend and congratulate the players and coaches of the St. Louis Catholic High School
Lady Saints track team on an impressive and memorable season, and on capturing the 2013
Class 4A Girls High School Outdoor Track and Field state championship.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
head coach of the St. Louis Catholic High School Lady Saints track team, Tommy Johns,
and to the principal of St. Louis Catholic High School, Ted Nixon.
