SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 110
BY SENATOR JOHNS AND REPRESENTATI VE GEYMANN 
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To commend the Sam Houston High School Lady Broncos softball team on winning their
third consecutive state championship.
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that the citizens of Louisiana have learned that the
Sam Houston High School Lady Broncos softball team won the Class 5A Girls High School
State Softball Championship on Saturday, April 27; and
WHEREAS, in the championship game, the Lady Broncos shut out the Mount
Carmel Academy Cubs by a score of 8-0; and
WHEREAS, Lady Bronco players Baylee Corbello, Tori Lantz, Alli Fields, Carleigh
Chaumont, Katie Hood, Taylor Edwards, Alisha Hare, Abby Jolie, Marcella Myers,
Braylynn Poullard, Konner Richard, Breanna Doucet, Madigan Eldridge, Kennedy
McLemore, and Tanner Wright finished the season with an impressive record of twenty wins
and nine losses and entered the playoffs as the nineteenth seed; and
WHEREAS, senior pitcher, Baylee Corbello, was voted Most Valuable Player of the
tournament and ended her high school career with her sixteenth strikeout of the night on her
one hundred twenty-seventh pitch; and
WHEREAS, she closed out her years as a Lady Bronco with a near perfect 23-1
playoff record, three consecutive championships, and one second place finish; and
WHEREAS, sophomore catcher, Taylor Edwards, had three hits and four RBIs
during the championship game and finished the tournament six for eleven with a home run
and eight RBIs; and
WHEREAS, her RBI double highlighted the four-run fifth inning and her two run
single in the sixth inning put the game away; and
WHEREAS, all nine of the Lady Bronco starters reached base as they picked up
twelve hits proving they were a team to be reckoned with; and SCR NO. 110	ENROLLED

WHEREAS, the distinguished team performance of the entire Sam Houston Lady
Broncos softball team throughout the regular season and the postseason has earned them the
Class 5A championship title; and
WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been
achieved without the guidance and skills of head coach, Beth Domingue, and the assistant
coaches, Whitney Corbello, Liz Jarrell, and Danielle Clayton, as well as all of the other
individuals who have contributed to the success of the Lady Broncos softball program; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Legislature of Louisiana wish to recognize each of
the coaches, managers, and the extraordinary young women of the Lady Broncos on their
much deserved third consecutive championship title which was earned through teamwork,
determination, and dedication to the sport of softball.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend and congratulate the players and coaches of the Sam Houston Lady Broncos
softball team on an impressive and memorable season, and on capturing the Class 5A Girls
High School State Softball Championship.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
head coach of the Sam Houston Lady Broncos, Beth Domingue, and to the principal of Sam
Houston High School, Mike Reed.
