Express condolences upon the death of David B. Usher. A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1 To express the sincere condolences of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the death of David2 B. Usher.3 WHEREAS, David B. Usher was a beloved son, brother, grandson, husband, father,4 godfather, friend and associate to those who knew him; and5 WHEREAS, he was senior vice president of Business Development at the Lake6 Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and former chief operating officer7 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette, Louisiana; and8 WHEREAS, Mr. Usher was a member of the Lake Charles Rotary Club, Kids Can9 of Southwest Louisiana, and the Lake Charles Chamber of Commerce; and10 WHEREAS, the family acknowledges their added blessing to have had the amazing11 support received from Frances Ellmer and Teresa and Steve Schnake who were of great12 value to the life and family of Mr. Usher; and13 WHEREAS, he is survived by his parents Floyd and Betty Usher of Ville Plate,14 Louisiana, and grandmother Juanita Balliew, his loving wife Marcia of thirty-five years, his15 beloved daughter Allison Schnake and husband John, brother Jim Usher and wife Brenda,16 sister Debbie Guillory and husband Gardon of Lafayette, Louisiana, and sister-in-law Jenell17 Lee; and18 SCR NO. 116 SLS 13RS-2546 ORIGINAL Page 2 of 2 WHEREAS, he is also survived by his nieces and nephews Shawn Usher and his wife1 Jennifer, Shelley Johnson and husband Scott, David Paul Usher, Alex and Jocelyn Guillory,2 Mark Lee and Alisa Gollotte, a host of extended family, and countless friends; and3 WHEREAS, Mr. Usher was named "Big Uncle David" to his grand nieces and4 nephews, Sarah, Erin, and Emily Johnson; James, Mary Claire, Elizabeth, and Aimee Usher;5 Ashley Miller and husband Christopher; Meagan Miller, Colan Miller and Bradley Gollett6 along with being cherished in memory with his godchildren, Shawn Usher, Debbie Guillory,7 and Amanda Fontenot; and8 WHEREAS, with the death of Mr. Usher, Louisiana lost one of its finest citizens and9 a true gentleman, who left an indelible mark on the lives of those he touched; and10 WHEREAS, although Mr. Usher's passing has left a void in his community and state,11 the memory of David B. Usher shall live on in the minds and hearts of all who knew and12 loved him.13 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby14 express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the death of David. B. Usher, and does15 hereby recognize the incomparable legacy which is marked by the deep pride and honor that16 he brought to his family, friends, community and the state of Louisiana.17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the18 family of David.
