Page 1 of 1 Regular Session, 2013 ENROLLED SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 25 BY SENATOR GALLOT A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON To urge and request the Board of Supervisors of Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College and the governor to keep the Huey P. Long Medical Center open and viable. WHEREAS, the Huey P. Long Medical Center in Pineville serves a clear and important mission in the delivery of health care to the citizens of central Louisiana; and WHEREAS, the Huey P. Long Medical Center is one of the largest employers in Rapides Parish; and WHEREAS, the Huey P. Long Medical Center provides primary, clinic, and emergency health care to patients of low to moderate income as well as those restricted to physicians and facilities who accept Medicare and Medicaid assignments; and WHEREAS, the Huey P. Long Medical Center provides health care not only to the residents of Rapides Parish but also to residents of at least eight other parishes in central Louisiana; and WHEREAS, the Huey P. Long Medical Center has a long and outstanding record of having one of the best medical training facilities in all of Louisiana. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby urge and request the Board of Supervisors of Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College and the governor to keep the Huey P. Long Medical Center open and viable. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the Board of Supervisors of Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College and the governor.
