SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 89
BY SENATOR WHITE AND REPRESENTATIVE BROADWATER 
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To commend the St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School girls basketball team
upon winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 2A Basketball
State Championship.
WHEREAS, the St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School girls basketball
team completed a sensational season, earning the title of Class 2A state champions at the
LHSAA basketball championship in March 2013; and
WHEREAS, the team won the state champion title in addition to being undefeated
district champions, having a district record of 14-0; and
WHEREAS, the team finished with an overall record of 30-5; and
WHEREAS, the team includes many players who were selected as members of the
1st Team All-District, 1st Team 2A All-State, 2nd Team All-District, and Academic All-
State Team: Amber Donnes, Carly Keller, Allie Seale, and Addie Shafer were significant
leaders, and their efforts were recognized in their selection for these honors; and
WHEREAS, Amber Donnes was also named MVP in Class 2A and MVP of the State
Game and has received a basketball scholarship to attend McNeese University; and
WHEREAS, Carly Keller received a basketball scholarship to attend Delta State
University; and
WHEREAS, Meg Gambel was selected to be a member of the National Honor
Society and team members selected for Beta Club include Meg Gambel, Amber Donnes,
Allie Seale, Carly Keller, Tylynn Guidry, and Addie Shafer; and
WHEREAS, all members of the team performed at the highest level of excellence
throughout the basketball season, and each of these great players deserves recognition for
her vital contributions to the winning effort; and
WHEREAS, all members of the team also perform well academically, as is apparent
in their placement on the Academic Honor Roll; and
WHEREAS, the team's outstanding season upholds the glorious tradition of the
school, and all St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School alumni and fans SCR NO. 89	ENROLLED

recognize the immense pride and distinguished honor that the team brings to its school,
community, and state.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend the St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School girls basketball team
upon its memorable and historic victory in the 2013 Louisiana High School Athletic
Association Class 2A state championship and does hereby extend best wishes to the players,
coaches, and everyon e involved with this fine basketball program as they celebrate their
exceptional achievements and prepare for continued success in the future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to St.
Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School.
