SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 102
BY SENATOR GALLOT 
REVENUE DEPARTMENT. Directs the Department of Revenue to publish specific
business outreach programs relative to tax compliance offered by the state to business
entities.
A RESOLUTION1
To direct the Department of Revenue to publish information on specific business outreach2
programs offered to taxpayers on the Internet, through publications, and other media3
relative to tax compliance requirements so as to afford the greatest possible impact4
on business entities throughout the state and coordinate these training and outreach5
efforts with other departments, such as the Department of Economic Development,6
the Louisiana Workforce Commission, and the Secretary of State, which offer a7
variety of related business support and training services through the departments.8
WHEREAS, to enhance taxpayer support and compliance, it should be an important9
goal of the Department of Revenue to provide and notify effective training and assistance10
to new, existing, or expanding businesses in the state; and11
WHEREAS, it is vital for the Department of Revenue to coordinate its training and12
outreach efforts with other departments, such as the Department of Economic Development,13
the Louisiana Workforce Commission, and the Secretary of State, which offer a variety of14
related business support and training services on their individual Internet websites and on15
the Internet websites of their local and regional partners; and16
WHEREAS, currently such information relative to taxpayer training and assistance17
is not easily accessible on a single website or any one individual departmental web portal;18 SR NO. 102

WHEREAS, the information that the Department of Revenue presents for businesses2
to utilize should be easily located through the department's portal and Internet website and3
should be easily accessed in terms of the content of those educational materials with a4
calendar of events available for community attendance.5
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana6
does hereby direct the Department of Revenue to publish information on specific business7
outreach programs offered to taxpayers on the Internet, through publications, and other8
media relative to tax compliance requirements, so as to afford the greatest possible impact9
on business entities throughout the state and coordinate these training and outreach efforts10
with other departments, such as the Department of Economic Development, the Louisiana11
Workforce Commission, and the Secretary of State, which offer a variety of related business12
support and training services through the departments.13
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the14
secretary of the Department of Revenue, the president and the members of the Senate.15
