SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 201

A RESOLUTION
To urge and request the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, office of motor
vehicles, to study the issues relative to public tag agents issuing driver's license
renewals as well as other office of motor vehicles services which may improve
service delivery to citizens of Louisiana, and to submit a written report of its findings
and recommendations to the Senate Committee on Transportation, Highways, and
Public Works not later than thirty days prior to the convening of the 2014 Regular
Session of the Legislature.
WHEREAS, public tag agents provide certain office of motor vehicle services in a
convenient, economic, and timely manner; and
WHEREAS, expansion of the office of motor vehicle services which public tag
agents are authorized to provide such as issuing driver's license renewals as well as other
services may improve service delivery to the citizens of Louisiana.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby urge and request the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, office of
motor vehicles, to study the issues relative to public tag agents issuing driver's license
renewals as well as other office of motor vehicles services which may improve service
delivery to citizens of Louisiana, and to submit a written report of its findings and
recommendations to the Senate Committee on Transportation, Highways, and Public Works
not later than thirty days prior to the convening of the 2014 Regular Session of the
Legislature.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution shall be transmitted
to the deputy secretary of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, public safety
services, and to the commissioner of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, office
of motor vehicles.
PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE
