SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 204

A RESOLUTION
To authorize the president of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana to pay a per diem
during a gubernatorial declared state of emergency to one member of the Select
Committee on Homeland Security who is designated by the president to attend the
state unified command group meetings.
WHEREAS, during the time of a gubernatorial declared state of emergency it is
necessary and imperative that the Senate has a member at the state emergency operations
building or designated emergency area to participate in the meetings of the state unified
command group and to coordinate the flow of information to other senators; and
WHEREAS, the legislature has a role of support and emergency support function
within the state's emergency operations plan; and
WHEREAS, the director of the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and
Emergency Preparedness provides a working space for a liaison from each house of the
legislature on the floor of the state emergency operations center; and 
WHEREAS, under the Rules of the Senate, the president of the Senate has the power
to approve all expenditures of the Senate and its members.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby authorize the president of the Senate to pay a per diem during a gubernatorial
declared state of emergency to one member of the Select Committee on Homeland Security
who is designated by the president to attend the state unified command group meetings.
