SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 65

A RESOLUTION
To commend and congratulate Dr. Ronald J. Ambrosetti upon his investiture as the
seventeenth president of Our Lady of Holy Cross College in New Orleans on April
12, 2013.
WHEREAS, Dr. Ronald J. Ambrosetti earned his bachelor's degree from Loyola
College in Baltimore, Maryland, and his master's degree and PhD from Bowling Green
University in Bowling Green, Ohio; and
WHEREAS, prior to his career in higher education administration, he honorably
served five years in the United States Army; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Ambrosetti's forty-year career in education is comprised of
numerous accomplishments which include serving as Dean of the College and Provost at St.
John Fisher College in Rochester, New York; Associate Vice President for Faculty Affairs
and Academic Resources at California State University at Dominquez Hills; Dean of the
Feinstein College of Arts and Sciences at Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode
Island; and Associate Dean of the Faculty at the State University of New York College of
Fredonia; and
WHEREAS, he has served as the Lead External Reviewer for two different five-year
Periodic Review Reports conducted by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education,
as guest speaker for Project H.O.P.E. (Hispanics Organized for Progress in Education), and
as the Faculty Advisor for the Newman Club, SUNY Fredonia; and
WHEREAS, in addition to numerous academic articles, Dr. Ambrosetti is the author
of the book, Eric Ambler, and coauthor of Eye on the Future; Popular Culture, and
Continuities in Popular Culture and Curricula; and SR NO. 65 ENROLLED

WHEREAS, Dr. Ambrosetti wrote in his letter of candidacy, "Upon seeing our
Presidential Search Profile, along with reading carefully the OLHCC Strategic Plan, I found
the charisma of the Marianites of the Holy Cross resonating deeply in my own Catholic,
scholastic background"; and
WHEREAS, the students, faculty and staff of Our Lady of Holy Cross College
welcome Dr. Ambrosetti to the helm of their campus and look forward to his tenure as
President.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend and congratulate Dr. Ronald J. Ambrosetti upon his investiture as
President of Our Lady of Holy Cross College, does hereby recognize and record for posterity
his exemplary leadership, and hereby extends to him best wishes for success in the future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Dr.
Ronald J. Ambrosetti.
