Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2013 ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 75 BY SENATOR GALLOT A RESOLUTION To commend and congratulate Reverend Frank J. Jackson, new pastor of St. Matthew Baptist Church in Boyce, Louisiana. WHEREAS, Reverend Frank J. Jackson is married to Annie R. Jackson and they have four children and nine grandchildren; and WHEREAS, he is a graduate of Montgomery High School in Montgomery, Louisiana; attended Northwestern State University in Natchitoches; and graduated from United Theological Seminary and Bible College in Monroe with a bachelor's degree in 1998 and with a master's degree in 2000; and WHEREAS, Reverend Jackson is a veteran of the United States Army serving from June 1979 to March 1985 and has been a member of the Louisiana National Guard since June 1985; and WHEREAS, since September 1987, he has been employed by the United States Property Office for Louisiana at Camp Beauregard in Alexandria, first as a central issue facility manager and, since 2001, supply logistic management specialist; and WHEREAS, Reverend Jackson was licensed to preach in September 1987 and ordained in 1990 at Mt. Pilgram Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Colfax, Louisiana, under Pastor Rev. Albert Sykes Jr.; and WHEREAS, he is a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church in Boyce under Pastor Rev. Dr. Joe S. Green; and WHEREAS, Reverend Jackson pastored at Calvary Baptist Church in Colfax from November 1991 to January 2000; Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church in Pineville from January 2000 to January 2003; and Providence Family Ministry in Alexandria from June 2003 to April 2013, before coming to St. Matthew Baptist Church; and WHEREAS, as pastor, he provides spiritual and doctrinal exposition for the well being of the congregation and community, coordinates worship services; provides pastoral counseling; plans and implements ministries and programs that will benefit the congregation and the community; and SR NO. 75 ENROLLED Page 2 of 2 WHEREAS, Reverend Jackson currently serves as extension support personnel for the United Theological Seminary and Bible College; is a board member of Pineville Concerned Citizens, Inc., a nonprofit civic organization that seeks to enhance community well being within the Pineville area, and is a board member of Seeds of Harvest Ministry in Alexandria, a ministry that focuses on helping senior citizens accomplish some of their daily needs; and WHEREAS, he also served as President of Central Louisiana Ministerial Association and President of Grant Winn 8th District Baptist Association; was a founding director of Colfax United Partnership Plan; and was founder of Consortium of Churches Pantry. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and congratulate Reverend Frank J. Jackson, new pastor of St. Matthew Baptist Church in Boyce, Louisiana. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Reverend Frank J. Jackson. PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE
